- When you are watching television, mute the commercials and follow your breathing, grounding your awareness in the present moment. Get up and walk around, look out the window, etcetera.
- Learn the art of letting go and finding a calm center in the midst of everything.
- Make a specific list of all that you have received today, even the small things. Everything matters. Make another list of all you have given. Include everything. Make a third list of any trouble or pain you may have caused anybody. The purpose of this is to reverse your usual thinking. You think you give all day and receive very little. You think you are hurt and disappointed by others most of the time and do not look at the pain or trouble we have caused.
