- Sit and breathe deeply. Bring to mind a modern convenience that you do not feel you can live without. Reflect on its importance to you and what life would be like without it. Reflect on the people and hard work involved in creating this object, through all of the various processes. Appreciate the people and the hard work involved. Thank all of them.
- Feelings or stress and irritation during meditation, like if there's a noise, are signs of underlying goals. Same with feeling of not achieving, being, discouraged, or guilt.
- Take tonglen breaks during the day. Incorporate the intention of tonglen into your mindful speech and deep listening. See what difference it makes to you and to the other person if you listen with attentiveness and with the intention to offer healing to that person just through your listening presence. Try speaking with honest and with the awareness of how your words can help to create true healing in the situation you are in.
