- Meditation is never about escaping from life. Join in with gusto, but carry your awareness with you.
- A major step in awareness is to be very watchful of your thoughts. They are subtle and dangerous. When you become aware of your thoughts, you will be surprised. The very phenomenon of watching it changes it. Then you must also become aware of your emotions, feelings, and moods. This is the most subtle layer and most difficult, but if you can be aware of thoughts, then it is just one more step.
