- Remedies for negative thought: Ignore it. Divert the mind to something else. Replace the hindrance with its opposite. Reflect on the fact that every hindrance has multiple causes and is in flux.
- Forgetfulness is the opposite of mindfulness. You drink a cup of tea, but you do not know you are drinking a cup of tea. You sit with the person we love, but you do not know they are there. You walk, but you are not really into walking. You are someplace else, thinking about the past or the future. The horse of your habit energy carries you along like a captive. You need to stop the horse and reclaim your freedom.
