- Many of the people who cause us the most stress may be people we love dearly. We need to take responsibility for our part in those relationships, for our own perceptions, thoughts, feelings, behavior.
- When you're about to engage in a reading or writing project, set yourself a deadline for a particular aspect of the task (assessed in pages, words, or minutes). Resolve to add a certain number of pages, words, or minutes every time you catch your mind straying. Take short breaks every so often: otherwise, concentrate exclusively on your work. Be honest in applying the penalties. It's good training to keep yourself focused.
