- Insight meditation practice is bringing your awareness to whatever arises and focusing firmly on it. Deepen the focus and analyze the thoughts and feelings, but be careful not to identify with them. If you become distracted, bring your attention back to the breath and do mindfulness meditation until your mind is calm again. It is a good idea to alternate between mindfulness and insight meditation practices; they reinforce each other and protect the mind from becoming too agitated or too dull.
- In the narrow crowded streets of a town in North India, an elephant was blocking the way to market. No one knew how to get by the beast. Then the townspeople saw a holy man walking down the street.
