- We need to be able to notice when we are running others down, because that same critic is running us down. It creates very negative energy.
- If you are feeling panicked in a situation, make a conscious effort to calm down. Instruct yourself to stop, then close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply. Feel yourself becoming more relaxed and your heartbeat slowing down.
- We continually seek novelty, becoming habituated to situations rapidly, including our own surroundings. Or we drift around in our own thoughts, not properly attending to what the world can offer. Don't underestimate the sheer multiplicity of phenomena - and when you do decide to devote yourself to experiences, try to do them justice. There are 35,000 works of art in the Louvre. Who can truly say they've seen the collection?
