- The Buddha said that each moment of our lives is not determined by bad luck or chance. Rather, it is a consequence of our previous thoughts, actions, and spoken words. What is going on in our lives is decided by an unbreakable relationship between our actions and the consequences of those actions.
- We must learn to relax the grip of the thinking mind that is always assessing its next victim.
- Close your eyes and imagine rowing down a river. You try to stay in the middle, but it is hard with the cross-currents. So, decide to let the boat drift instead of steering it. The boat is carried along with the current. You are free to enjoy the experience. When you come out of this meditation, take this attitude into daily life. Try to release the need to control things in life. Doing this will bring you a greater sense of peace.
