Aerial navigation involves plotting the aircraft's course (heading) and airspeed, and the speed and direction of the wind. The resulting plotted line shows the track or route of the journey.
The two principles that govern heavier-than-air flight are the same as those that propel powered vessels - action and reaction, and suction. When applied to flight, suction is known as lift.
